R&B diva Keyshia Cole is gearing up to premiere a new reality series titled “Family First," where she will give viewers a glimpse into her personal life once again. The show which will be similar to her prior BET series "Keyshia Cole: The Way it Is," and it will also revolve around her immediate family. The show will feature hubby Daniel "Boobie" Gibson, son Daniel  Jr. aka DJ, and yes Momma Frankie will also be in the mix.

Over the weekend Keyshia was spotted filming for the series in Santa Monica along with her adorable 2-year-old son and her hubby “Boobie." The trio spent a fun filled day in the park and their cute little pup also tagged along with the bunch. They laid out in the nice weather and enjoyed each other’s company while also celebrating Mother's Day. However, it seems as though these activities were just the tip of the iceberg as Daniel later tweeted “Spoiling Key Mama Gibson Mama Frankie & Mrs. Cole. Treating like the Queens they are."

“Family First” is scheduled to debut on BET later this year.  During the season viewers will get to see behind the scenes of the making of Keyshia Cole's fifth studio album. The show will also portray her relationship with new manager Kevin Liles and will feature a big wedding in which the Gibson’s will renew their vowels.

Chuck Brown, a pioneering musician known as the "Godfather of Go-Go," has passed away at the age of 75. The jumpy, live, organic and bouncy genre has a long been a staple of DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) parties after being originated in the nation's capital in the mid-'60s.

Brown, a wild performer throughout his career, is best known for penning and performing the R&B chart-topping hit "Bustin' Loose" in the late '70s with his band the Soul Searchers. The song might be unknown to many in younger generations, but the melodies and beat will certainly be familiar to hip-hop fans as it's the primary sample in the 2002 Neptunes-produced Nelly smash "Hot In Herre."

The Washington Post confirmed that the deep-voiced Brown, who learned music composition during in early stint in prison, passed away on today (May 16) at Johns Hopkins University hospital in Baltimore. The paper reported that the artist had been hospitalized for pneumonia earlier this month and he had to postpone a series of shows due to illness.

Go-go, while still localized, has received more attention in recent years due to the embrace of local rappers like Maybach Music Group's Wale. Brown's iconic work will surely live on in the region and well-beyond throughout the music world.

Forbes has released its annual Celebrity 100 list and Jennifer Lopez makes a surprising appearance at the #1 slot, while Rihanna pulls in at 4 on the list.

Lopez unseats Lady Gaga, who took top honors last year but falls to #5 in this year's ranking; her visibility and earnings were lower in the last 12 months because she wasn't touring, having wrapped her Monster Ball in May of last year and only recently launching her latest road show, theBorn This Way Ball.

T.I. will make his "RapFix Live" debut this Wednesday at 4p.m., when he sits down with Sway Calloway on the red couch to talk about his upcoming album, Trouble Man.

Tip has a grind like no other. Since being released from prison last fall, the Atlanta rapper landed a VH1 reality series with his wife, Tiny, added some new muscle to his Grand Hustle record label, and immediately began recording for his eighth solo album. The street-bred MC, who popularized the term Trap Music, has long promised a return to the T.I. of old.

"We got a lot of hot, old-school, vintage T.I. records on there," he told MTV News during a January interview. "I'm talking like gutter, gangsta, intellectual ignorance, hard-core stadium sh--, but at the same time, we got those over-the-top crossover records as well, big features and whatnot we plan on putting into play."

The fiery lyricist isn't only concerned with his own music: Earlier this month, protégé B.o.B released his sophomore LP, Strange Clouds, and T.I. has spent a ton of time working with his newest signee Iggy Azalea. There will be no shortage of topics to address when Tip hits the red couch.

In addition to the King, "RapFix" will also be welcoming Mississippi rap rookie Tito Lopez to the show. Lopez who has drawn praise from Dr. Dre and was recently signed to Capitol Records has been building a healthy buzz lately. His latest single, "Mama Proud," features both a positive message and new-age lyricism over a soulful beat. You're not going to want to miss this!

On a new one entitled We Know The DJ Vol. 2, DJ Tay James gets a hosting spot from G.O.O.D. Tay James, who loudly proclaims his status as "the official DJ for Justin Bieber" on the mixtape's cover art, runs rampant throughout the hip-hop and pop landscape, throwing Rick Ross on Rihanna and Chris Brown's "Birthday Cake" remix and mashing-up a remix to Bieber's megabit "Boyfriend" to name a couple.

Mac Miller has been climbing to the top, working with artists like Lil’ Wayne and Cam’ron who appeared on his Macadelic mixtape but the Pittsburgh MC's latest collaboration is a very special one. Mac teamed up with his fan Bobby Stewart aka Young Ka for the new song .

Stewart, 18-years old, suffers from T-Cell Lymphoma which is a life-threatening cancer. Stewart had the chance on Monday to visit Mac’s studio to collaborate with his fellow hometown rapper. “To be with Mac is a blessing," Stewart told WTAE TV. "His lyrics are amazing. Hip-hop is my passion. To be able to be with Mac Miller ... he is a Pittsburgh legend."

The two native Pittsburgh rappers connected last year during Miller’s generous donation of $50,000 to The Make a Wish Foundation.  Miller expressed his thoughts on Stewart’s “unique” point of view by saying, "He has something real to say, and it's different, and it's cool.”

Young Ka concluded his musically therapeutic time at the ID Labs Studio by saying, "It gives me something to look forward to, and it's a moment that's timeless.”

Nicki Minaj's new video "Right By Your Side" will premiere on MTV at 6:56pm Wednesday night, but RapFix has exclusive preview shots from the new clip. Nicki finds an unexpected leading man for her romantic tale--who actually pops up on another track on her album--in addition to a feature from Chris Brown who appears on the track.

Last month Minaj rolled out the video for "Starships" from her sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. The colorful clip found her frolicking on the beaches on Hawaii, and taking part in a late night dance party on the beach. Her video for "Right By My Side" is a bit more subdued and finds Nicki Minaj spending some romantic time.

Chris Brown, who is featured on the track, also appears in the visuals. Stay tuned for the video premiere later today.

On Tuesday, Guerilla Union hosted a press conference to reveal the 2012 Rock the Bells lineup, and it's a doozy. Headlining acts Missy Elliot, Timbaland and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will perform along with Wiz Khalifa, Kid Cudi, Nas, J. Cole and Mac Miller.

Lupe Fiasco's name also appears on the festival's flyer, but on Wednesday morning (May 16), the Chi-Town lyricist tweeted that despite what was printed, he would not be in attendance this year. "Not doing Rock The Bellz...thats a typo fam and friends...," he wrote.

For the first time in nine years, Rock the Bells will expand its daylong festival to two days. The first show will take place August 18 at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, California. Last year's three-stage setup forced fans to choose between their favorite acts, who would often perform simultaneously. "We had quite a few complaints about Mobb Deep fans having to choose between Mobb Deep and Nas," Guerilla Union boss Chang Weisberg said as an example. "We tried to deliver three stages, but it didn't work out. So the correction? Two stages, two days, one event."

RTB will hit the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California, on August 25 and 26 and then the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey, on September 1 and 2. Coincidentally, the East Coast show falls on the very same weekend as Jay-Z's recently announced Made in America multi-genre music festival in Philadelphia. Hov promises close to 30 eclectic acts in the fields of rock, hip-hop, R&B, Latin and dance music. The Made in America lineup hasn't been announced yet, but already, the RTB bill is ripe with diverse rap talent. 2 Chainz, Tyga, Kendrick Lamar, Slick Rick, E-40, Too Short and A$AP Rocky will all be in attendance.

The announcement event wrapped up with performances by DJ Quik and Bone Thugs, who took the stage and rocked a few of their many classics, leaving fans ready for the main course this summer. Fans should checkRockTheBells.net for venue and ticket information.

Rihanna has no fear when it comes to sporting minimal coverage. She had recently shared more racy and skin-baring photos from behind the scenes of her latest video, “Where Have You Been.” The shots find Rih covered up slightly on-top with some crocodile style body paint for the video's water scene.

After repeatedly teasing so many photos and video clips from the set of the video, we finally got our full view of the project last week.

Rih also  made an appearance this past weekend on "Saturday Night Live" for the third time, where she performed "Where Have You Been."  Next up we'll catch the singer-turned-actress in the upcoming "Battleship" set to hit theaters on May 18.

"There were a few — I won't name them, but there were a few," Rihanna admitted of studying other badass onscreen ladies for her role in "Battleship." "[They were] mostly actresses I looked to and looked up to and embodied their characters and tried to see how they would approach the action. I watched a lot of bad bitches," she said with a smile.

Waka Flocka is a hot commodity right now. After landing the cover of Spin, the ATL rapper was photographed by fashion photographer Terry Richardson in a big feature for VMAN's summer issue. During his interview Waka chats about his music, mom, and what he hopes to achieve outside of hip-hop.On spending time in Manhattan: “I’ll go to the studio [in the LES] but I hang out in Queens. I always live in Queens. Never ever, ever I leave. (…) I grew up down the street from Murder Inc., down the street from RUN-D.M.C., Russell Simmons, and LL Cool J. The Lost Boyz used to hang out with my family members. Music has always been in my family.”

On his mother, hip-hop momager Debra Antney: “When I started, she didn’t believe in me. She said ‘I ain’t believe in that shit. Yo’ ain’t serious.’ When she saw that I was serious, then she took charge.”

On his music: “I think I put the life into hip-hop again. I revived it by bringing a new sound, 808s and kicks. My producer and my team—I feel we changed the sound of everybody, and I can honestly say that. Before Flockaveli, nothing sounded like it. But when I came out, everything to this day sounds like it. So I can smile a Kool-Aid smile when I say that.”

On his impact on fans: “I see girls cry and faint. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. I never knew my music to touch somebody personally but I see guys walk up and talk with passion. That shit blow your mind. I never took my music seriously before another person did. And if people take it seriously, I need to get into this shit.”

On his new album Triple F Life: Friends, Fans, and Family: “If you ain’t neither of the three, fuck off. (…) My goal with this album is to open people’s eyes, and hopefully touch a lot more heads. I just love it and I hope people enjoy it, I’m goin’ hard. You can expect Flockaveli times 10. I used to just party with what I knew how to party with, but when I started rapping I got introduced to every religion, every race, and every culture. Now I know how to make everybody party. From touring, traveling, doing features, photo shoots, video shoots, I get a lot of different personalities, so I dissected that and was able to elevate my style.”

On his goals: “I wanna build a YMCA in my county. My goal is to make sure my family don’t have to worry and don’t have to stress about tomorrow. And we could potentially help another group of families to do the same. I live by that. I overcame every odd that was put against me; I wear that like armor. Appreciate this album for me. I put a lot of pain into this. So I hope you’re ready for it. I’m bringing it to the new world.”
