David Banner joined the now growing list of Hip-Hop artists to make an appearance at “Occupy Wall Street” earlier today in New York City. Other notable rappers including Kanye West and Talbi Kweli visited “Liberty Park” in the past week to show their support of the movement.

Kendrick Lamar didn’t need a hypeman to back him up when he performed at SOB’s in New York City on Wednesday night—mostly because of his expert breath control, but also because the crowd seemed to know every word to every song.

K. Dot opened before a sold-out crowd with “F--- Your Ethnicity,” from his recently released Section.80 LP. Funny how a such polarizing song brought the crowd together as they sang along to the track’s hook spitting: “I don’t give a f--- if you Black, White, Asian, His-panic, G-- Damnit… F--- your ethnicity n---a.” From there the stage was set as the Compton, California MC ran through a gang of digitally-released fan-favorites. Hip-hop festival Rock The Bells set off its 2011 series of concerts Saturday at the San Manual Amphitheatre in San Bernardino, California to a crowd of nearly 40,000 hip hop fans. Former adult film star turned mainstream entertainer Sasha Grey offered her own unique spin on music when she played DJ and host at Stereo Live Friday night (August 12) in Houston, Texas.

Grey, who single-handedly pushed Vinnie Chase down skid row on HBO’s Entourage and played girlfriend-for-sale Chelsea in Steven Soderbergh’s The Girlfriend Experience, stepped behind the raised DJ platform just after midnight clad in an exquisite black bedazzled off-the-shoulder dress, pumps and the requisite over-sized headphones. The incongruity of her posh attire juxtaposed with the grungy wares of the audience served as more of a spotlight on her 75-minute set than the hanging disco ball. Read More...
