On January 12, 2010, a devastating 7.0-magnitude earthquake shook the island of Haiti, killing 300, 000 people and leaving another 1.5 million residents homeless and without medicine and food. Wyclef Jean, a native of Haiti, was particularly proactive in his attempts to raise relief funds through his Yele Haiti foundation, even attempting to run for office in the presidential elections that followed. Two years later, coverage of the quake has died down, but the country is still recovering from the destruction and hip-hop stars are still involved in the effort. On the two-year anniversary of the earthquake, several celebrities took to Twitter, encouraging their followers to continue supporting Haiti as the country rebuilds. Read More...

We got a peek at Lil Wayne’s Trukfit clothing line earlier this week, and on Tuesday night (January 10) Weezy made a surprise appearance at the 2012 Zumiez 100K event in Keystone, Colorado where he gave a full presentation of the new skateboard apparel. Wayne, always one to do it big, took the stage to the soundtrack of “6 Foot 7 Foot" rocking Trukfit apparel. While on stage, Wayne explained the name "Trukfit" telling fans that as a kid he’d grab new gear from the back of a clothing booster truck. Read More...

Back in December, we realized that Lil Wayne was really serious about his skateboarding dreams when he announced plans to launch the new clothing line Trukfit. The skateboard apparel collection is scheduled to debut in New York city at the end of January, but Weezy gave the West Coast a taste first, debuting the line at the Long Beach, California Agenda trade show over the weekend. Thundercup got an exclusive look at the new line, and you can also spot Wayne wearing a Trukfit t-shirt in the most recent installment of his web series “Weezy’s Sports Corner.” Read More...

Following last week’s unexpected wedding proposal on VH1's "Love & Hip Hop 2," rapper Jim Jones had one more great surprise in store for his fiancé Chrissy Lampkin. After watching the lead up to him popping the question, plus Chrissy’s tearful acceptance, we learn--along with Chrissy--that a whole room full of her friends and family were brought down to Miami to celebrate their second and most official engagement to date. “It’s like the princess kissing the frog,” Jim explained. “I’ve got my own fairy tale going on.” And, this time, even his cantankerous Mama Jones seems like she won’t stand in the way of happily ever after. The former N.W.A member is in the process of developing a new dramatic series for the television network FX, which he will also star in. The series, appropriately titled “Eye for an Eye,” is based around a former paramedic who decides to take care of criminals in his own manner after responding to one too many violent calls while on the job.
