Nicki Minaj To Join 'Ice Age 4: Continental Drift'

Nicki Minaj and her many personas plus her command of zany vocal characterizations have served her well over the course of her career. Now, the Young Money starlet will join an all-star cast on an upcoming addition of the family-friendly movie series Ice Age: Continental Drift– applying her vocal flair to the fourth edition of the popular film franchise.

According to a report this evening (August 4) from Variety magazine, the Pink Friday diva will join comedienne Joy Behar, funnyman JB Smoove and fellow rap femme fatale Queen Latifah. Rounding out the star-studded cast are Jennifer Lopez, Wanda Sykes, Aziz Ansari and Nicki’s YMCMB cohort Drake among others. Read More...

Imagine birthday shopping for the President of the United States. For his wife, the regal First Lady Mrs. Michelle Obama, that must be quite a task to shop for the leader of the most powerful country in the world. Perhaps the first lady could pre-order a copy of the President's favorite rapper Jay-Z and Kanye West's upcoming album Watch The Throne album or maybe add Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV to add to his iPod? Dream Set To Release Free Album

Singer-songwriter The-Dream has defied his superiors at Def Jam and has promised to release a free album under his birth given name although the singer is still under contract with the major recording label to release his fourth studio LP. The 34-year-old Atlanta native took to his Twitter yesterday (August 1) to make the announcement and continued with some passionate tweets regarding the decision today as well.

A fired up Dream in a series of tweets offered, “LP4 is Underway I THE-DREAM have decided to go forward with "Diary Of A Madman" LP it almost didnt happen. So ill be in my DefJam uniform... for atleast one More Season! Also a free 10 song Internet album will be released by Aug 31st. Janelle Monae Remembers Amy Winehouse As A 'Sweet Girl'

As the entire entertainment community mourns the loss of talented singer Amy Winehouse, an outpouring of support from stars and fans have been ongoing since her tragic passing this past Saturday (July 23). Continuing in that long line of kind words for the fallen vocalist, Janelle Monae offered thoughts on Winehouse and cited their first encounter with one another in an upcoming interview.

In a Q&A session with VIBE magazine, the Kansas City native complimented Winehouse after an initial meeting between the two pint-sized singers showed that the pair had a little bit in common. “I was honored then and I am now that I had the opportunity to share the same tour and stage with Amy this year in Brazil. Each night she came out on stage, she performed effortlessly,” shared Janelle Monae. Monae opened for Winehouse along with singer Mayer Hawthorne on a quick Brazilian tour, just performing four booked shows in the quick jaunt. Read More...

Destiny’s Child Reunite In NYC To Support Kelly Rowland’s New Album

Although each member of the celebrated vocal trio Destiny’s Child have gone on to pursue solo careers, it could assumed that fans of the glamorous girl group may have gotten their hopes up for a new project between the longtime friends. However, Beyoncé and Michelle Williams showed true unity last night (July 26) in New York City while joining their singing sister Kelly Rowland at her star-studded bash for her third studio release Here I Am.

Kelly Rowland, currently buzzing on the charts with her official US debut single “Motivation” featuring Young Money captain Lil Wayne, has already denounced any chance of a Destiny’s Child reunion in a Billboard interview – although the ladies are still very close after their amicable 2006 split from each other. The current "X-Factor" judge is plenty busy with promoting her album and second stateside single “Lay It On Me” which features Kanye West protégé Big Sean on the assist, who also attended the event. Lauryn Hill Delivers Sixth Child Over The Weekend, Fans React

Singer and rapper Lauryn Hill made the worldwide trending topic list for Twitter over the weekend, not because the former Fugee rapper is set to release a new album but because the proud mother of five has welcomed her sixth child into the world this past Saturday (July 23). Hill, 36, had announced news of her pregnancy during a show in Detroit this past June.

An exclusive report from website Black Celebrity Kids states that Hill and her newest addition are doing well. ““Mother and baby are fine,” says a source to Black Celebrity Kids. The source also shared that Ms. Hill and family “had a little scare because the baby came out the womb with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck.
