Hip-Hop icon Ice Cube is one of the music genre's most respected, most gifted MCs. The California native has made countless classic albums, not to mention a stint with arguably rap's definitive groups, N.W.A. But for the past few years the artist born O'shea Jackson has been making an even bigger name for himself outside of Hip-Hop in his newfound home in Hollywood. Cube has starred in and directed a high volume of films that have swelled his catalog from his infamous "Friday" series to more mainstream movies such as "Are We There Yet." Atlanta’s own Shawty Lo stopped by RapFix Live yesterday (July 13) to chop it up on the couches with host Sway and the newly signed G-Unit Records artist had plenty to say about his label D4L Records, who signed over to 50 Cent's team back in June for a hefty sum. Aiming to promote not only his artists and the entire south, Shawty Lo humbly gave props to Fif for the opportunity and a chance to show off ATL’s best product.

However when Sway asked Shawty about the state of Atlanta’s rap scene naming Ludacris and Young Jeezy, it was Sway’s question regarding the recently freed Gucci Mane that got the D4L rapper to open up the most. “Gucci doing good now, he just came home the other day, “said Shawty. “He back working, shooting a lot of videos and doing his thing.” Shawty also added that the hardworking Gucci has shot four clips so far since his release. Shawty's words rang true as Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame just released a video for "Hottest Rapper" featuring Kash off Gucc's The Movie Part 2 mixtape. Read More...

Hip-Hop group Cali Swag District stopped by RapFix Live this afternoon where the collective spoke on their fallen friend and group member M-Bone who was gunned down in his Inglewood stomping grounds. Switching gears to a more positive note, the group touched on their new album The Kickback and even dropped a few impressive bars at the conclusion of the show, falling in line with previous RapFix guests such as Beanie Sigel, Wiz Khalifa, Fat Joe, Swizz Beatz and much more. Dancing group? Not quite. Don't sleep on them Cali boys, the young'ns got bars. Hit the clip for further proof.

Last week, the “RapFix Live” couches were graced with the presence of none other than Philadelphia veteran rhyme slinger Beanie Sigel and the self-proclaimed Broad Street Bully gave our host Sway plenty of food for thought as he discussed his time with Roc-A-Fella Records, his State Property crew and his upcoming music projects. However, a telling portion of the show happened when Sway dug into the past and asked Beans about his relationship with former boss at Roc-A-Fella Dame Dash.

After a brief video clip that showed Dame Dash declaring his love and support for his estranged crew – including Jay-Z – after the Roc label split, Beans spoke a bit about his connection with Dash and what transpired between the two during their time together. After a long and reflective pause, Beanie answered Sway’s question about the pair’s relationship as it stands today. “I mean I love Dame, just like he say he loves me,” said a subdued Beanie. “It ain’t no communication. I haven’t talked to Dame. I don’t talk to him.” Read More...

For the past decade lyricist Beanie Sigel has been the author of some of Hip-Hop's most dominating rap bars. The original Roc-A-Fella Army may was no doubt a successful conglomerate of brainchild Jay-Z but it was the lyrically artillery from general B. Sigel that assisted Hov in extending a long lasting empire. In standard tradition, at the close of this weeks RapFix Live Sigel let go a few thunderous bars. Times may have changed but B. Mack's raps have not. Check the clip for more. Read More...
