Lil Kim Close Friend Maino Weighs In On Battle With Nicki Minaj

Maino might just be the luckiest rapper in hip-hop. The Brooklyn hard rock has the luxury of saying he's one of few individuals to maintain a good-spirited relationship with female rappers Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj. Maino has long been affiliated with Kim as an extended member of the Queen Bee camp. Coincidentally, Maino and Nicki also share a few things in common as the two were both upstart rappers looking to make it big in the New York City region a few years back. While Maino and Nicki have gone separate ways, the "Unstoppable" rapper says he's in good graces with the Young Money rapper.

During his visit on RapFix Live's one year anniversary show this past Wednesday, Maino reflected on a vintage clip of Nicki and himself having some fun for the camera. Read More...

Jim Jones Shoots Down 'Love & Hip-Hop' Fight Rumors

If you're expecting to catch some drama at the start of season two of VH-1's reality show "Love & Hip-Hop" then you may want to think again. At least, according to show producer Jim Jones that is. Jones was one of our many guests for the one year anniversary of RapFix Live on Wednesday (September 14th) where during his time on the couch the Harlemite shot down reports that his girlfriend Chrissy got into a cat fight with newcomer and girlfriend to Juelz Santana during the first episode. Consequence Nabs 'Best Freestyle' Title, Lil Kim Wins 'Best Moment' Crown On RapFix Live

Happy “RapFix Live” Day! Celebrating its one year anniversary today with a bevy of rap’s shining stars, the “cornerstone of Hip Hop” aired live today (September 14) at 4 p.m. ET as our host Sway held down the hosting duties with flair much as he has over the past 365 days. Today’s special edition of the best live Hip Hop show in the land featured Busta Rhymes protégé Reek Da Villain, G-Unit soldier Lloyd Banks, West Coast vets Tha Outlawz, Diplomat representative Jim Jones, Consequence and Maino.

In what amounted to a fight down to the wire, Queens and Brooklyn can claim victories tonight after rappers Consequence and Lil’ Kim and their respective fans helped pushed the veteran rappers ahead of some rather stiff competition. Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, Consequence To Appear On 'RapFix Live' One Year Anniversary Show Today!

The polls have closed and the people have spoken! Two tightly contested “RapFix Live” battles concluded yesterday (September 13) with YOU – the loyal fans and viewers – voting on the best “RapFix Live” freestyle appearance and the top “RapFix Live” moments. Today at 4 p.m. ET, host Sway Calloway will kick off our one year anniversary show where he will announce who locked down the win in the freestyle battle and also the best moment according to the votes that poured in.

Joining Sway on the infamous red couch will be none other than past guests The Diplomats’ Jim Jones and Juelz Santana. Queens MC Consequence will also join the Dip Set representatives on the couch and is slated to debut his new song “Mr. RapFix” – great song title, Cons, but we’ll see what Sway has to say about that distinction this afternoon. Rounding out the guest pool for this special “RapFix Live” event will be sultry southern rapper Trina, G-Unit foot soldier Lloyd Banks and West Coast vets Tha Outlawz. Brooklyn's very own Maino will also be in the building.

Dubbed the “cornerstone of Hip Hop” by Sway himself, today’s special edition of “RapFix Live” is going to be one of the books so don’t forget to tune in at 4 p.m. ET to check out the best live Hip Hop show around.

Nicki Minaj Closes In On RapFix Live 'Best Freestlye' Victory

True fans of “RapFix Live” already know about the long established tradition of the end of the show freestyle in where host Sway Calloway challenges his guests to provide viewers at home with a verse, giving the artist a chance to shine and go down in rap infamy. Eminem And Lil Kim Duke It Out For Favorite RapFix Live Moment

Hosted by MTV News' resident rap icon, Sway Calloway, “RapFix Live” has featured exclusive in-depth interviews with some of hip hop's biggest stars. This Wednesday, (September 14) the show will celebrate its one-year anniversary with a special edition at 4 p.m. ET featuring appearances by Trina, Lloyd Banks and Tha Outlawz.

Last week we asked fans to vote on their favorite "RapFix Live" moments, and while the votes continue to pour in it appears that a certain pair of Detroit rhyme slingers may have eclipsed the field of competition. Back in May, an appearance on “RapFix Live” from Bad Meets Evil duo Eminem and Royce Da 5’9 has leapt out as an early front runner as we approach Tuesday’s (September 13) voting deadline. On the show, Slim Shady revealed to Sway that his move from rapping to acting proved far more difficult than fellow rapper turned actor peer Ice Cube originally advised. For the past 365 days we've brought you some of the most compelling hip-hop synergy in the form of our weekly conversation based online show better known as RapFix Live. It was at RapFix Live that we brought you the first news of Wiz Khalifa's label signing, Lil Kim's first and only live interview this year, Lloyd Banks' next label home, rap superstar Eminem's RapFix Live debut and plenty more action. So its only right we celebrate the one year anniversary of hip-hop's number one destination.

After 12 months of hard work, MTV News will celebrate on the "RapFix Live" one-year anniversary show, set to kick off Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com. Lloyd Banks, Maino, Trina and the Outlawz will join host Sway in taking a look back at the past year in hip-hop. Poll: Eminem, Wiz And Amber, What Was Your Favorite RapFix Live Moment?

Dubbed the “cornerstone of Hip Hop” by longtime MTV News correspondent and show host Sway Calloway, “RapFix Live” will celebrate its one year anniversary on September 14. As one of the best live Hip Hop-based talk shows around, “RapFix Live” has not only featured some of rap’s biggest stars and exclusive, explosive freestyles, but also has broken major news stories and from the comfy confines of its infamous red couch. Here's a look back at some of the top moments of “RapFix Live”:

Wiz Khalifa, now one of the most popular rappers around, was still thought to be signed to Pittsburgh indie label Rostrum Records when he graced the couch and shocked Sway and the world by revealing he’d been signed by major player Atlantic Records. He also presented his now anthemic single “Black and Yellow” to the masses. G-Unit soldier Lloyd Banks also turned heads when he revealed he was moving on to EMI after spending much of his career with Interscope under the G-Unit umbrella. Dipset solider Juelz Santana gave one of the more entertaining and unbridled interviews on the show.
