Twitter was abuzz with fan reaction to MTV2's Hottest MCs list tonight. The annual list of rappers was collated by MTV's brain trust of producers, programmers and writers and based upon the following criteria for artists over the past year: Impact, Sales, Lyrics, Style and Intangibles. Tonight the top half of the list was revealed with Rick Ross taking the top spot followed by Drake, Kanye, Nicki Minaj and Lil' Wayne (initially Lil' Wayne landed at #3 but following a majority vote was taken down to #4). NEWARK, New Jersey — Whitney Houston has gone home. The superstar singer was laid to rest in a private ceremony in Westfield, New Jersey today. She was buried next to her father John Houston at the Fairview Cemetery. As the casket was being somberly walked out of New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey, Ray was seen reaching out to touch it and then emotionally tearing up.
