Kelis and son Knight took a stroll through Los Angeles recently. Knight is Kelis' first child with ex-husband Nas.

Last week, the Los Angeles County Superior Court reportedly cut the financial support the MC was paying divorcee/singer Kelis by half, according to court documents rustled up by TMZ. The Queens native will be paying a bit over $5,000 a month in child support and $20,00 in spousal support.

It’s a pretty penny but not nearly as much when compared to what Nas was initially subject to hand over. The Distant Relatives rapper was originally ordered to pay an estimated amount of $500,000 per month in child and spousal support, in support of Kelis and Knight. Read More...

As Ricky Gervais slung the jokes at actors like Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp, MTV News spoke to rappers-cum-actors like Diddy and 50 Cent on the Golden Globes' red carpet.

"I just finished "The Set-Up" with myself, Bruce Willis and Ryan Phillipe," the rapper/ actor shared.

Fif, who performed in films like "13," "Twelve" and "Gun" in 2010, is looking to expand his acting skills beyond the drug dealer or hit man. As for the roles the G-Unit general is looking for, it's a toss up. Read More...

Dr. Dre has sure been toying with our emotions today, hasn't he?

First, he and producer Just Blaze released a clip via Twitter where the Doctor said, "4/20, baby. 4/20, I'm coming."

"You might just see a unicorn this year too!" Blaze joked in response.

Maybe we should've listened to Just because a few hours later, a representative for the Compton icon said that Detox is not officially slated for 4/20. So perhaps rap fans have a brand new single to anticipate for the Spring? Read More...

Diddy donned a tux and stepped out at Sunday's (January 16) Golden Globes event, presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press. During the evening, the Bad Boy head stopped by the official after party and chatted with Mark Wahlberg of "The Fighter." And while Diddy wasn't nominated for his performance as the charismatic music exec Sergio Roma in the comedy "Get Him To The Greek," the film did give the real-life music impresario a new found strength.

"I've done a lot of drama mostly my whole career, with Broadway and 'Monster's Ball' and stuff like that — my short little career. But when I did 'Get Him to the Greek,' I really fell in love with making people laugh," Diddy told MTV News on the red carpet at the Golden Globes. "I have a knack for improvisation, and hopefully I'll be able to make people laugh more." Read More...

Dipset Dipset Dipset!

The Diplomats are reunited and the Uptown collective — Cam'ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and Freekey Zekey — are bringing their revived threesome to the couch where they'll be our guests on "RapFix Live." Dipset will kick off the second season of MTV News' hip-hop live stream show on Thursday at 4 p.m. ET right here on RapFix and MTV.com.

"It's a good feeling," Jones explained to MTV News about the Harlem collective's energy. "Everybody just comes to the table with their best. It's brotherly competition so it only makes it better. Above all, we came back together for the brotherhood. We grew up together, so there was a love that was lost there. We regained that and it's time for music." Read More...

RapFix is back, giving you the most up-to-date information on your favorite artists, including Lil Wayne. Here's a photo of our own Sway with the Young Money/Cash Money captain on the set of the "6 Foot 7 Foot" video, his first solo single since leaving Rikers Island in November.

The video shoot began on Thursday and sees the Tha Carter IV MC in the most costumes changes he's done to-date. As for the clip's concept, Young Money-Cash Money is remaining tight-lipped but we can tell you that the story is a nod to a popular, recently released movie. Read More...

It's our belief that every great rap group deserves a great documentary and thankfully, the legendary A Tribe Called Quest's homage is debuting at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. But along with the good news came a very public rift between group member Q-Tip and the doc's directors Michael Rapaport.

Late last year, the MC made his quibbles with the film's depiction of the group known publicly, but the New York native Rapaport says it's all just showbiz jitters.

"I think the reason he did his little Twitter thing was because when he realized that the movie was coming to completion and going to get seen by people," Rapaport said. "I can’t really speak for him but I think he got a little nervous. He’s a very protective of the legacy of A Tribe Called Quest and the movie is a very honest depiction of my time with them and the information that I was given in interviews and content." "Thank you BasedGod," is the phrase that echoed through New York's Highline Ballroom on Thursday (January 13). Click here to see our photo gallery. Lil B stopped by 1515 last year and explained his "based" catchphrase.

"Well, based really is being yourself, being positive, not really worrying too much about what people think about you. Really saying what comes to your mind first," Lil B told Mixtape Daily. "It's like unconscious. Really not premeditating, saying, 'Imma do this, I'mma say this, I'mma be this way,' but really just going with the flow."

The Berkeley, California rapper Lil B took over the venue in the Big Apple's Chelsea neighborhood to a sold-out crowd. MTV News' Steven Roberts hit the show — Event? Spectacle? — and had this to say: Read More...

"When you're a boss bitch, you give it up. Send her a Chanel bag or something. If you're winning, you're winning. That's just how I see it."

- Foxy Brown talked to MTV News last summer about how she would like to salute Nicki Minaj's success. It was such a classic line that we here at RapFix had to bring it back. The femcee recently dropped her oft-delayed "Massacre" track, which was originally slated to hit the Internet during the Yuletide when it was called "Christmas Massacre" but as time passed, so did the title.

"First the bitch wanna hate on Foxy," she spits. "Ten years later, now she hating on Minaj, whoa." Read More...

Earlier this week, footage of Birdman and Lil Wayne's "Fire Flame" remix video hit the web and RapFix was left wondering: Why would Weezy shoot a "Fire Flame" video before releasing a clip for his own "6 Foot 7 Foot" single?

" 'Fire Flame' is one of the songs that are for the home team," said DJ Scoob Doo, Wayne's personal videographer. "He's done a lot of features and songs for Tha Carter but this is a home team song. And it's not a problem to do a home team video before '6 Foot 7 Foot.' "

As for the video for Wayne's first post-prison single, which features Cory Gunz, it may come sooner than we thought. Read More...
