Ohio native and current Atlanta resident Shad “Bow Wow” Moss has grown up under the hot lights of Hip Hop scrutiny ever since making a splash as a kid rapper with former mentor Jermaine Dupri and appearing on Snoop Dogg’s classic Doggystyle album when he was much younger.

Now at 24 and currently a part of the Young Money conglomerate, the rapper and actor has released the fourth in his Greenlight mixtape series hosted by DJ Ill and DJ Rockstar earlier today in an effort to reestablish his rap roots and to also prep fans for his upcoming YMCMB full-length Underrated in November. Fans awaiting the return of legendary Queens MC Nas to his hardcore hip-hop roots should be pleased by the rapper’s work of late. As Lil Wayne continues to prep listeners for his upcoming Tha Carter IV album, the Young Money captain has unleashed yet another drop from his ninth studio record – this time with assistance from his Canadian brethren Drake who provides an insistent and memorable hook over the slow groove. Produced by T-Minus, Weezy goes in for another track devoted to the ladies although he and Drizzy take a particularly different path than what was found on the more syrupy “How To Love” single.

Dropping earlier this week, the silky groove features a subdued Wayne and Drake who both never overpower the backing track. Blazing its way throughout the Web, fans on social networking site Twitter have expressed overwhelming support for the new song and there are reports that this version of the track is actually a remix. Growing up before America’s eyes, former television child star and pop singer Miley Cyrus – now 18 – has been shedding her old image a layer at a time by way of a series of incidents that blazed through the press. No instance was more random than when the daughter of country music star Billy Ray Cyrus tweeted about her love of southern rap mainstay Gucci Mane.

“Don't mind me just showin off muahhh grill with @gucci1017at the urrrport!” tweeted Miley back in April in regards to Gucci Mane’s Source cover. After a few tweets dedicated to Gucci, Cyrus also mentioned a hopeful collaboration between her rocker brother Trace and Mr. Zone 6. “You know what would be my summer jam??? @tracecyrus and @gucci1017 on a track together! This past Wednesday, “RapFix Live” host Sway had the pleasure of sitting down with Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame – aka the Ferrari Boyz – and discussed the pair’s various ventures including Waka’s new independent label, their new joint Ferrari Boyz album and Gucci’s ambitious desire to recreate a down south classic. Young Money starlet Nicki Minaj continues to have a banner year with movie roles, sellout tours and a hit album in Pink Friday. Yesterday (August 10), Billboard announced that Minaj has the biggest selling solo single from a female rapper in almost a decade. The single “Super Bass” has made quite the leap on Billboard’s Hot 100 charts, making it the highest charting solo hit for a female rapper since Missy Elliot and her “Work It” single which hit the No. 2 slot in 2002.

Nicki Minaj’s debut album Pink Friday has helped to keep the Cash Money brand name prominent along with Young Money boss Lil Wayne and fellow label mate Drake. Cash Money co-founder and fellow CEO Ronald “Slim” Williams appears to be satisfied with Nicki’s success and gave the rap star some well-deserved praise. Read More...
