Things are going from bad to worse for Hot 97’s DJ Mister Cee. As MTV RapFix reported yesterday, the legendary DJ was arrested for public lewdness on March 30. More facts are beginning to be revealed that confirm what many thought to be unruly gossip when the story first began circulating.

The New York Daily News reported yesterday that police confirmed that Mister Cee (Calvin Lebrun) and Lawrence Campbell were both indeed arrested. This was consistent with earlier reports but the additional caveat was that police also revealed that Mister Cee was arrested twice before (on Oct. 8 and Nov. 20, last year) for “loitering for the purpose of prostitution.”

The Smoking Gun has obtained a copy of the criminal complaint that was filed by the arresting officer. A part of thee report reads: “…deponent observed defendant Campbell manipulating defendant Lebrun’s exposed, naked, erect penis with defendant Campbell’s mouth and lips and an up-and-down motion consistent with oral sex.”

More photos of Lawrence Campbell, who also goes by the name Brook-Lynne Lady according to a now deleted Facebook page, have surfaced that show the 20 year-old man dressed as a woman.

Despite the mounting evidence, fellow Hot 97 DJ Funkmaster Flex continues to defend his friend’s honor. After rival NYC radio station Power 105’s The Breakfast Club morning show, particularly Charlamagne Tha God, took Cee to task for the drama he finds himself in, Flex took to the airwaves and ridiculed the station. Before going on his rant, Flex said “Whatever is your preference out here New York City, we do not discriminate.” Flex then went on to state that the rumors heard about Mister Cee are not true and without saying names threatened to expose secrets maintained over at Power 105.

While the Mister Cee twitter account [@Real_MisterCee] continues to be active, there is debate about whether or not the DJ really is at its helm.

Both Mister Cee and Lawrence Campbell are due back in court on June 1.

Hot 97’s DJ Mister Cee has some explaining to do. Last night the Twitter world was flummoxed over word of legendary DJ being arrested wednesday, but the chatter was more so about the details surrounding the event.

The story making the Twitter rounds was provided by Jacky Jasper's DiaryofaHollywoodStreetKing.com and noted that Cee was allegedly caught in a car receiving fellatio from an unnamed 20 year-old male. Many were quick to indict Mr. Cee sight unseen but skeptics pointed to some holes in the story. Mainly, that the NYPD’s 1st precinct is not “between West Streets and Watts Street” as the story described. Read More...

New York Knicks All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony is taking his talents from the court to the stage, for a night. The New York Post is reporting the Melo will be making an appearance on Saturday Night Live tomorrow.

SNL hasn’t confirmed if the Brooklyn native will indeed be acting in any sketches. The show’s host, and musical guest, for the evening is Sir Elton John. The acting work shouldn’t affect the Melo’s game, the next Knicks game is Sunday versus the Cleveland Cavaliers at 6pm at Madison Square Garden.

Back in February, MTV News caught up with Melo a day before his much hyped trade to the Knicks. Melo and his wife, La La Velasquez, will have their move to New York City chronicled in a VH1 reality series, tentatively titled “La La’s Full Court Life,” that is scheduled to premiere in August. The couple should be used to the cameras since their wedding was documented on another VH1 show, “La La’s Full Court Wedding.”

Last year, Melo spoke to Mixtape Daily about Diego Ca$h, a signee to his Krossover Entertainment label. “We saw someone that was raw talent that a lot of people were overlooking," Anthony told Mixtape Daily. "He wasn't getting the respect that he deserved, so I jumped in there. I just started Krossover Entertainment, the music side of things. He was the first artist signed to Krossover.”

Diego’s labelmate on Krossover is Philadelphia rapper Cassidy. The former Swizz Beatz artist released his fourth album, C.A.S.H., on the E1 (Koch) distributed label last November.

Cam’Ron is many things; rapper, former high-school basketball star, Dipset general, sometime actor, the list goes on. Stylist is another title the Harlem native can claim. While his past affections for pink and purple hues have been well documented, during yesterday’s visit to the Angie Martinez Show on Hot 97, the MC laid out a few hilarious style dos and don’ts for the ladies. While most coverage of the interview focused on his announcement that the homie Vado signed a deal with Interscope Records, RapFix outlines the proper attire for would be Killa Cam jump offs.

DO NOT rock Coach anything.
Have you heard Cam’Ron and Vado’s “Hey Muma” from their upcoming Gunz ‘N Butta album. “Let me coach you, no Coach tags,” he quips on the song. Sure Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci are still good to go, but Coach no longer holds any cachet with Killa.

DO rock thigh high socks.
This one is for the ladies since it’s a safe bet he was not thinking of Tyler, the Creator’s socks when he mentioned this one. Cam also pointed at the main chick in his video for girl “Girls Cry” as an example—or see American Apparel. You can’t be mad at that look.

DO NOT rock Steve Madden shoes.
Steve Madden is known for making women’s shoes that at times look like knock offs of more expensive lines (think: Loubottins) but with more affordable prices. [http://www.stevemadden.com/] A trait Mr. Giles apparently isn’t too keen on. “If you rocking Steve Madden, we won’t go anywhere,” said Cam.

DO always. Wear. Socks.
“I don’t like feet, no homo, period. Guys or girls,” said Cam’Ron. Nuff said.

DO NOT wear red toe nail polish.
According to Cam’Ron, red toe nail polish puts a woman in the same lane as Louis Jefferson from The Jeffersons. “It make me think you like 72 years old,” he said. No disrespect to the late Isabel Sanford, of course.

Cam’Ron summed up his discriminating taste when describing the motivation behind his bars on “Hey Muma.” He told Angie Martinez, “It’s like, I like her but she just rocking the wrong thing, let me coach you. You looking good, you got potential, but you just need a stylist; a tutor, a sponsor. Somebody to get you correct. Cause it's a lot of girls that could be crazy good, but the swag messes up everything.”

Actually, that would be a lack of swag that messes up everything. Love is love.

Grammy nominated R&B singer Angie Stone was arrested on Sunday (March 27) for driving with a suspended license in Georgia.

TMZ reports that Stone was pulled over for speeding. It was then that officers discovered that her driver’s license was also suspended. The Columbia, South Carolina native was subsequently arrested and released about an hour later.

In 2006, Stone appeared on the fourth season of the VH1 reality series Celebrity Fit Club. In the 80s, Stone was known as Angie B. and part of female hip-hop trio The Sequence, that were signed to Sugar Hill Records. As for her personal life, she has a son with enigmatic R&B singer D’Angelo and has songwriting credits on both of his albums (Brown Sugar, Voodoo).

Along with artists like Erykah Badu, Raphael Saadiq and the aforementioned D’Angelo, the “No More Rain (In This Cloud)” singer was part of the Neo Soul music movement of the mid to late 1990s. Her last album, Unexpected, her fifth, was released in 2009 on the revamped Stax Records to generally positive reviews.

A prerequisite for being a great MC is having other rappers take your style and imitate it, incorporate it or straight up bite it. Pause.

Big Sean knows this well enough (creating styles, he’s still got work to put in before he can be considered great) since he’s credited with spawning the “Supa Dupa” punch line flow where metaphors and similes are stripped to the bare minimum (think: no use of the words “like” or “as”). Nicki Minaj kicking, “It’s going down, basement,” on Ludacris’ “My Chick Bad” or Drake saying, “Swimming in money try to find me, Nemo,” on his own “Forever” are just a couple of examples. Nate Dogg, G-Funk purveyor and certified West Coast hip-hop legend has passed away. Every new age hip-hop artist with a tendency to seal their songs with a singer on its hook, or even sing those choruses themselves, needs to pay homage.

Contrary to popular belief, singing and harmonizing have always been part of hip-hop music. Seminal old-school groups like the Cold Crush Brothers and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five regularly mixed in crooning with their rapping.

But by the late 80s and early 90s, busting out sweet vocals on the mic had largely fallen out of favor. Enter Dr. Dre and his landmark album The Chronic, which featured vocals from Nate Dogg (see: “Deez Nuts”) in its cast of musical characters. Read More...

Olivia, the former First Lady of G-Unit Records, is still trying to get out of 50 Cent’s shadow.

The thirty year-old R&B singer is part of the cast of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop reality series, which makes its premier tonight (March 14).

“A lot of people don’t know the real Olivia,” she told MTV News. “I felt like I was kind of sheltered being in the Unit, so this was a way for everybody to see my personality and just to see how I really am…” Read More...

Mother Nature is no joke.

This morning (March 11) an 8.9 magnitude earthquake struck the Northeast of Japan. Devastation caused by the earthquake and subsequent aftershocks was coupled by a tsunami it caused that hit the coast shortly thereafter, leaving entire towns submerged in water and more destruction in its path.

So far hundreds of people have already been declared dead, with thousands more injured.

The United States is keeping Japan in its prayers (President Barack O’Bama has pledged aid) and the hip-hop nation also took to Twitter to voice their support. Read More...
