The second episode of the second season of MTV's "RapFix Live" is guaranteed to be another amazing show thanks to special guest Styles P.

Last week, Philly rapper Freeway came through and chopped it up about his past, current and future endeavors. This week's invitee is a New York City hip-hop veteran who also has plenty of news to share. Styles P, a.k.a. the Ghost, is a member of the LOX (with partners Sheek Louch and Jadakiss) but he has enjoyed a successful solo career too. Read More...

Jay-Z and Kanye West are finally ready to let heads into their proverbial Throne Room. A listening session for their collaborative album Watch The Throne—easily one of the most anticipated albums of the year, regardless of genre—is going down for select media tonight at a secret location in New York City. I will be there on behalf of MTV News to get a first listen in on the project that Yeezy and Hova have been working on for a good minute, keeping fans and media alike wondering what the final product will sounds like.

As for the visuals, the album’s artwork—created by Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci—was revealed over the weekend. Rumors that circulated previously saying the album would be released over the July 4th holiday proved to be suspect, but the album will be shipping on August 2, 2011. That’s the date given to customers who have already chosen to pre-order the album, which comes in a standard and deluxe edition. Also, there is no solid tracklist that has been made available, yet. One thing Lupe Fiasco always does is speak his mind. On a visit to CBS News’ “What’s Trending” series, the Chicago rapper likened President Obama to a terrorist.

The MC was spotlighted due to his status as an “influencer” and after discussing his many Twitter followers and fans petitioning for the release of his album Lasers, the topic turned to “politically charged” music. Fiasco cringed when the hostess, Shira Lazar said that his politically charge music, like Lasers single “Words I Never Said,” is an anomaly for a pop artist. Read More...

Super producer Just Blaze hit the MTV "RapFix Live" couch on Wednesday (May11) and one of the many topics discussed (working with Jay-Z, beef with Cam’Ron, etc.) was Dr. Dre's long-delayed but still highly anticipated Detox album. One tidbit shared was that since Dre "announced" the project (more on that later) in 2002, there have been multiple versions of the album recorded. Read More...
