Eminem Returns With ‘Survival’: Stans Weigh In

(Eminem debuts ‘Survival’)

By Maurice Bobb

Because he’s been gone for so long, it’s an event whenever Eminem releases new music. On Wednesday (August 14), the Shady Records CEO dropped his new track “Survival” as part of the three-minute trailer for the new “Call of Duty: Ghosts” video game and Em’s Stans wasted no time taking to Twitter to lavish praise on their favorite MC.

“The song’s about fighting back and it seems like it fits ‘Ghost’ perfectly,” Em said in a pre-taped clip that was aired Wednesday during a live stream to promote the war-themed game. “I’m going to be a big part of the game, my new song’s in it and we video dropping soon for it too. Stay tuned we got some more surprises in store for you too.”

The incendiary track has not been confirmed to appear on Em’s upcoming yet-to-be-named seventh solo LP. The Detroit representer’s supremely loyal Stans are excited about the former, but completely elated about the latter.

@Qalazive1: Eminen new song ‘Survival’ is Dope

@El_Durantula: Eminem-Survival……TO F—ING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course there are those who hated on the song, like @Nathan_Rein, who tweeted, “I love eminen.. But that new song is jank,” and there are those who fear Dr. Dre’s original co-sign may have to bow down to the Beats By Dre’s latest rapper to be knighted, Kendrick Lamar. @Explicit96 added, “I’m scared for Eminem and Kendricks collaboration because the chances are Kendrick will own it.” All things considered, though, the Stans are happy, so much so, that they’re already quoting lyrics from the song.
