Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Samsung App: A How-To Guide

Jay-Z teamed up with Samsung to preview snippets of his anticipated Magna Carta Holy Grail album and on July 4 at 12:01am the project will be available in full, to users of the Magna Carta app (the rest of the world will have to wait until July 8). In case you’re a first-time user, or you’ve just got a few questions about what you can expect on the app, we reached out to Samsung to get a brief how-to guide.

Will downloading the album be as simple as pressing a “download album” button at 12:01 am on July 4th?
The app will push notify successful downloaders when the album is available on 7/4. At this time the user can either download the album or stream the album through the app.

How long would the download take on a strong Wi-Fi connection and will fans be able to share it with friends (with and without Samsung devices)?
The download will depend on the Wi-Fi connection.

Will fans have the option to download the uncensored album?
After entering their age, Galaxy owners over 18 have the choice between a clean version or explicit version.

Will Samsung release additional content on the app after the album is officially released?
From now until July 4, Samsung is releasing an inside look at the making of Jay-Z’s new album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, including lyrics, inspirations and more – exclusively to Galaxy owners. The album release at 12:01 ET on July 4th will be the final reveal.

Are Samsung consumers able to download the album on other products?
Consumers can download the app through Google Play on a Galaxy S III, Galaxy S 4 and Galaxy Note II.

After download, will fans be able to listen to the album outside of the app as well?
Fans can either download the album or stream the album.
