Michael Jordan finally got another ring. But this around, it wasn’t for his exploits on the basketball court. For the second time in his life, the 50-year old owner of the Charlotte Bobcats took the plunge into wedded bliss when he tied the knot with 35-year old former model Yvette Prieto Saturday (April 27) in Palm Beach, Fla.
"They've been planning for months and months," a source told People of the nuptials. "He wanted to give Yvette everything she's ever wanted." Some 300 guests, including Tiger Woods and Spike Lee, watched the six-time NBA champion put a ring on it at Bethesday-by-the-Sea, an Episcopal church where Donald Trump got married to Melania Knauss in 2005.
Another 1,500 guests joined the couple for the reception at the Bears Club, which sits on a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course in Juniper, Fla. where the Hall of Famer recently built a palacial 38,000 square foot mansion.
The evening’s entertainment was provided by DJ MC Lyte, singers K’Jon, Robin Thicke and Usher, who was backed by an 18-piece band called The Source. Jordan and Prieto met at a nightclub in Miami five years ago and were engaged in December 2011.
The Chicago Bulls legend was previously married to Juanita Vanoy, who he divorced in 2006 after 17 years of marriage. The couple has three children together.
