Flavor Flav was tapped to host NextMovie’s red carpet at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night (April 4), and possibly in honor of Public Enemy’s classic 1988 album It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back celebrating it’s 25th anniversary, Flav decided to host a little rap-a-long with his guests.
We’ll be honest, with the exception of Snoop Dogg and comedian Lil Duval, most of the raps were unimpressive, but hey, “A” for effort right? Skylar Austin tried rhyming to Tupac’s “California Love,” while Jared Gilman more or less read the lyrics to OutKast’s “Rosa Parks,” without really attempting to get down with the melody.

Snoop, dressed in his red fur jacket, was proud to spit Public Enemy’s “Fight the Power” while holding the lyrics out of the view to show that he clearly didn’t need to read along. Hana Mae Lee rapped Jay-Z’s “99 Problems” like she’d never heard of the song in her life, and Lil Duval did his thing to LL Cool’s J’s “Mama Said Knock You Out,” telling Flav, “I could say this without even reading it.” Watch the full rap-a-long in the video above.
