Beyoncé sure knows how to stir up the BeyHive’s nest. In a five-second trailer released Wednesday (April 3), Mrs. Carter is seen in full “Sasha Fierce” mode, clad in a sexy black sheer outfit with futuristic, silver-adorned fingernails, ready for action. There’s a snippet of a song playing in the background before the simple announcement that reads: “4.4.2013 9AM EDT #BeyHereNow” hinting that new music is on the way.
Seasoned BeyHivers know that April 4 is Beyonce and Jay-Z’s 5th wedding anniversary, an important date in itself, but one that proves to also mark a new song, new video or new album details.
Bey already made a sonic splash late last month when she dropped “Bow Down/I Been On” from her yet untitled upcoming LP. Fans were shocked to hear their favorite chanteuse displaying a vastly different side of herself on record: brash, taunting and swaggering.
Last week, Houston’s biggest rappers—Slim Thug, Z-Ro, Lil Keke, Willie D, Scarface and Bun B—dropped a syrupy remix to the screwed-up track, “I Been On.” Additionally, the “Déjà Vu” singer revealed that she will team up with Andre 3000 to cover Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” for the soundtrack to Baz Luhrmann’s new film, “The Great Gatsby.”
For Beyoncé’s most fervent fans, 9 a.m. tomorrow morning can’t come soon enough.
