Beyonce’s ‘Bow Down’ Gets A Nonsensical Review From Rush Limbaugh

To everyone’s (probable) dismay, Rush Limbaugh has taken it upon himself to interpret Beyonce’s new song, “Bow Dow/I Been On” which she released on Sunday. The conservative radio host believes that Bey is advising women to get married and “put up with it,” which is clearly what Bey is talking about in her song. Clearly. (Sense our sarcasm?)

On the track, the hard-working, multi-talented Queen B sings: “I know when you were little girls / You dreamt of being in my world / Don’t forget it, don’t forget it / Respect that, bow down bitches / I took some time to live my life / But don’t think I’m just his little wife / Don’t get it twisted, get it twisted / This my shit, bow down bitches.”

Now, when we hear this song, which expresses a more aggressive side of Beyonce, we think ‘okay, Bey is layin’ it down. She took some time off but now she’s back and telling people, perhaps other young performers in the game, to get ready,’ –something like that. When Mr. Limbaugh hears the song (and remember, this is the guy who called a young woman a sl– a year ago for advocating women’s contraception rights) he hears a woman who has given up her independence for the married life.

“She’s done a 180. Beyonce, now having been married, having been impregnated and giving birth to Blue Ivy, she’s going out on a new tour. And they may as well call it the Bow Down Bitch Tour,” he said. “Beyonce is now saying ‘Go ahead and put up with it.’ And you know why? I’ll tell you why. Because she married a rich guy. She’s even calling herself Mrs. Carter on the tour. She has shelved Beyonce. She’s gonna call herself Mrs. Carter on the ‘Bow Down Bitches’ tour.”

So because she married Jay-Z and decided to take his last name she has “shelved Beyonce”? No, no, no. We have a hard time believing that by calling her tour The Mrs. Carter Show, Beyonce is declaring her submission to her husband. And honestly, we’re offended at Limbaugh’s perspective of our beloved Bey.

“She got married and now understands. She now understands it’s worth it to bow down,” he claimed. “When you find the right guy you put up with it—bow down.”

First of all, “bitches” doesn’t just refer to just women, Limbaugh. But thanks for implying that. Also, Beyonce isn’t the one “bowing down” in her song, she’s telling others to do it. Ugh, did you even listen to the song?!

It’s funny that Limbaugh thinks Beyonce needs Jay’s money when the star is reportedly worth $300 million herself. But enough with his ridiculous antics and sexist views on women. Here’s an educational word from Limbaugh: “Let me give you a little history on Beyonce,” he said. “Beyonce used to be the lead for, it was a three-girl group called Destiny’s Child.” Are you kidding me?!
