Gucci Mane was feeling inspired this morning, but then he snapped back to reality in just under an hour. On Monday (Mar 4) the Atlanta rapper suddenly announced plans to change his name to "Guwop" on Twitter, but it was pretty short-lived.
"July 2nd I'm officially changing my rap name to Guwop and retiring the great GucciMane," he wrote. "Thanks Fans, for 8 years as Gucci now it's Wop turn."
Apparently his fans weren't really feeling it though, because about 30 minutes later he followed up with this tweet, "I am officially NOT changing my name to Guwop it will officially stay Gucci Mane due to my Fans' response.. Trap House 3 & Juug House July 2" and then added, "Ya'll Hell ... Lmfao."
An honest effort.
Gucci is set to appear in the upcoming film "Spring Breakers," and his boy Waka is looking forward to it. "Honestly, he did that on the low. He knew I was gonna laugh at him," Waka told MTV News when the trailer premiered. "He did that on the low. I can't wait to see it."
