Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, Earl Sweatshirt Up For Woodie Awards: Vote Now!

The 2013 mtvU Woodie Awards are quickly approaching, and the competition is stiff this year. Though the nominees span all genres, with contenders from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros to fun, hip-hop makes a strong showing with A$AP Rocky, Kendrick Lamar and MGK all being nominated for the highly covered Woodie of the Year award.

Other categories to watch include The Breaking Woodie (Best Emerging Artist), where Earl Sweatshirt has been nominated, and Tag Team Woodie (Best Collaboration) where Meek Mill and Drake are up for “Amen,” plus G.O.O.D. Music with “Mercy.”

Grammy Award-winner Frank Ocean is even up for the FOMO Woodie (Fear of Missing Out: Biggest “Can’t Miss” Cultural Moment and/or Performance), so right now is probably a good time to start casting your votes here.

Woodie Award voting opens Tuesday (February 12) and runs through March 14 at 4 p.m. ET. The 2013 mtvU Woodie Awards and Festival are returning to Austin, Texas for a full day of musical performances on March 14, during the SXSW Music Festival. MTV and mtvU will air a half-hour 2013 Woodie Awards special on March 17 at 8 p.m. ET, with performers announced at a later date.
