Did Chris Brown and Frank Ocean bring their beef to tonight’s Grammy Awards? When Frank took home the Urban Contemporary Album award for Channel Orange, several people in the audience stood up to cheer…but not Chris Brown, who was sitting front and center. Brown stayed seated near Rihanna. Chris, as well as Miguel, were also nominated for the same award so perhaps it was his way of showing that he didn’t agree with the winner?
“Chris Brown was the only one who didn’t stand up when Frank Ocean won lol” tweeted a fan while another described the incident as “#ThatAwkwardMomentWhen Chris Brown doesn’t stand up whenFrank Ocean beats him.”
The two have had personal issues with each other as of late. Last month, they got into a scuffle outside of a LA recording studio over a parking space and the fact that Frank apparently didn’t shake Chris’ hand. After police investigation, the assault case is set to be closed. A sheriff spokesman said investigators will speak with Frank before officially closing the case, but the they are unlikely to pursue battery charges against Chris. This comes on the heels of explosive news from TMZ that Frank says he was called a homophobic slur during the fight.
In official police documents, Frank claims he refused to shake Chris’ hand in the parking lot of a L.A. recording studio and that’s when Chris punched him in the face. Frank adds that two of Chris’ friends jumped in to help Brown, and at some point, Frank believed he heard someone yell “F—-t!” at him.
