Rihanna ‘Couldn’t Bury’ Love For Chris Brown

Just days ago some teaser quotes from Rihanna’s interview with Rolling Stone finally confirmed confirmed what the world already knows: She’s back together with Chris Brown. The quotes were particularly candid given how Rih usually tries to shut down talk about her relationship with Brown, who assaulted her in 2009.

“I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake,” she shared about getting back together with Brown. “After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”

With the issue out, Rihanna shares even more about her reconciliation with the singer – and one of those bytes is particularly interesting given a reported scuffle he got into with Frank Ocean earlier this week. “I know it comes off like that,” she said when told it seems like he hasn’t changed. “And it doesn’t help. For a long time he was really angry, and he felt like he couldn’t get away from it, no matter what he did. But there’s so many reasons why I reconsidered having him in my life. He’s not the monster everybody thinks. He’s a good person. He has a fantastic heart. He’s giving and loving. And he’s fun to be around. That’s what I love about him – he always makes me laugh. All I want to do is laugh, really- and I do that with him.”

Before their reconciliation, Rihanna shared that she didn’t talk to anyone about what she was going through. But, eventually her heart won out over her head and she wanted to try it again with Chris. “I wanted him to know what it felt like to lose me. To feel the consequences of that,” she said. “So when that s— came back it hit me like a ton of bricks. Like, God, you’ve got to be kidding right now. But I got real with myself, and I just couldn’t bury the way I felt.”

Additionally, she shared in the issue she hasn’t ruled out someday wanting kids and also addressed the rumors that there’s a rift between her and Katy Perry over her relationship with John Mayer. Her answer is classic Rihanna. She says, “Katy Perry can date anyone she wants. Besides who the f— am I to say anything? I could never give relationship advice to anyone,” she added.
