Super Bowl 2012: Destiny’s Child Performance Pretty Much Confirmed

By Henna Kathiya

Rumors are flying left and right about a possible Destiny’s Child reunion during the Super Bowl halftime show, especially with a leaked set list that includes Destiny’s Child classics “Survivor” and “Bills, Bills, Bills.” Michelle Williams has continued to brush off reunion rumors citing scheduling conflicts with ‘Fela! but a statement released from the production company seems to contradict her statement and point towards a performance.

The statement released from the theater read, “Michelle Williams will not be appearing January 31st — 3rd.” Although there was no reason given for her absence it is highly suspicious that Michelle Williams will be absent during Super Bowl weekend, perhaps for a quick trip down to New Orleans?

“Unfortunately, I honestly can’t say. Just thinking about it gives me a headache. It seems quite impossible because of our own individual schedules, “ she told MTV News last week. “My opening night for ‘Fela!’ is January 29. I’ve been in rehearsals for that, so I haven’t had time to think about learning anything else.”

Although she denied the reunion this weekend, she did say there was a possibility in a few years, “But who knows? Maybe sometime in the future, five or 10 years from now, we’ll see,” she said. Destiny’s Child compilation album Love Songs will be in stores today.
