Chris Brown vs. Frank Ocean: Who Started The Fight?

By Georgette Pierre

The fallout from the parking lot brawl between Chris Brown and Frank Ocean seems to be just getting started. After tweeting that he was jumped by Breezy over the weekend in an LA parking lot, Frank Ocean is now looking to press charges against the singer.

On Monday LA County Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore told Reuters that Ocean “is desirous of prosecution in this incident.” But who actually started the fight? Although most people want to assume Brown is to blame (because of his 2009 assault and his fallout with Drake last summer), several reports are concluding that he actually didn’t start the fight, noting that he initially tried to brush off the confrontation with a handshake. According to E! News, a source close to Breezy told them, “It’s easy to just assume Chris started this, but it’s absolutely not the case.”

Choosing to remain mum on Twitter, he opted for an Instagram photo instead, as a not-so-subliminal response to the critics and comments about the incident.

The fight didn’t come as a complete surprise though, since their differences date all the way back to 2011. Most recently, in July, right after Ocean revealed his first love was a man, some accused Brown of making a homophobic slur towards Ocean. Brown denied the accusations in a tweet saying “My Opinion on the whole Frank Ocean subject is ……… Love who u wanna love. It’s ur decision. People stop searching for BS.” He continued, “Everyone is so quick to point the wrong fingers at each other! Ask urself… Am I Doing everything I can to help the world ????”

Do you think Frank Ocean should press charges?
