Blue Ivy Carter celebrates her first birthday on January 7, but over the past year Jay-Z and Beyonce have managed to successfully keep their daughter hidden from the spotlight. The public has only gotten a few glimpses of her over the 12 months, with very few shots at her face. Take a look at Blue Ivy's big sightings in the past 12 months.
The family shared the first official photos of Blue via their own Tumblr account in the days after she was born. The snapshots showed both parents holding their newborn closely, and it was one of the very few times that her face has been visible in pictures.
Out and About in New York
Blue was welcomed to the world in January, and by February she was spotted out and about in New York City with Beyonce, simply strolling around town. During the outings with her mother Blue was kept concealed, with paps only being able to capture shots of her gear, like her trendy Marc Jacobs slippers. Blue made her first trip to Brooklyn's Prospect Park back in March and dined with her parents at quaint bistros in downtown Manhattan.
Bergdorf Shopping Trip
After the initial Tumblr photos it was nearly impossible to get a shot of Blue's face, but during a shopping trip to Bergdorf Goodman in New York City back in July, a fan captured of shot of Beyonce carrying her daughter. It was the first close up of Blue's face the public had seen since January.
Watch the Throne
In August Beyonce took some time to update her personal Tumblr account, including family photos and one shot of Blue. As usual her face wasn't caught on camera, but the photo found Bey feeding little Blue backstage at her father's Watch the Throne concert, sporting her very own Watch the Throne t-shirt, bearing the shows dates.
The Carters have been on more than few vacation trips this year, including one to St. Barts where photogs caught an image of Beyonce singing to her daughter in her hotel, plus a Mediterranean yacht vacay where some of the clearest images of Blue's face were captured. Jay-Z looked pretty happy rocking his MTV logo sweatshirt.
Made in America
While prepping for his first annual Made in America festival Jay-Z took a couple trips to Philadelphia, and one on expedition he was captured with Blue Ivy in hand. Jay was photographed holding onto Blue as they exited a helicopter in Manhattan, with the tiny tot sporting a pair of noise canceling headphones.
