Over the past few years Drake has championed his OVO imprint via lyrics and his blog, even selling merchandise branded with the signature black and gold owl at couture prices, but now the Toronto rapper is kicking things up a notch. Drake has inked a new deal that aligns October's Very Own with Warner Bros. Records.
Billboard reports that an official announcement will be issued on Wednesday (December 5), addressing a move that finds Drake branching out from the Young Money/Cash Money umbrella to sign his own artists. He'll still remain as a solo artist on YMCMB, but we expect to hear plans for roping in other artists in due time.
Warner Bros. is also home to Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group label, even though he's still releasing his solo work via Def Jam. Is Drake gearing up to follow in Rozay's footsteps?
