Game Drops ‘Black Jesus’ In New Sunday Service

By Rob Markman

By the seventh day Game proved that he refuses to rest. With his fifth album Jesus Piece due in stores December 11, the Compton, California MC continued his weekly Sunday Service free music series with the release of soulful “Black Jesus” on Sunday (November 18).

“Yessir the young Black Jesus/ Walkin’ on water in them young black Yeezys/ Five albums, five masterpieces/ Can’t leave rap alone the Game needs it,” The Documentary lyricist rhymed to start off this week’s selection.

Game’s bars got even deeper on the second verse as he sent loving shout-outs to hip-hop’s deceased legends. “Gimme Steve’s eyes so I can see black Jesus/ So I can see why they killin’ in the Chi Black Jesus/ How did Chris Lighty really die Black Jesus?/ Don’t answer that, he’s probably in Heaven where B.I.G. is,” he spit.

Earlier this week the track list for Jesus Piece hit the Internet and with guests appearances from Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Kendrick Lamar, Pusha T and J. Cole it’s hard to imagine that Game will disappoint his faithful flock.
