J.Cole Debuts ‘Miss America,’ Born Sinner‘s First Single

J. Cole is already predicting that the first single from his sophomore album Born Sinner, won’t get any radio play, but we’ll take quality over empty hits any day. After teasing the single with a trailer, the North Carolina rapper debuted “Miss America” late Monday night (November 12) to commemorate the second anniversary of his Friday Night Lights mixtape.

“Today, Friday Night Lights is 2. Tonight, welcome the new. Miss America @ Midnight,” he wrote to fans on Twitter, later sharing an iTunes link. Don’t let the title of this track fool you, Cole introduces it as a public service announcement and over the drum-heavy beat, he shares what’s been weighing on his mind, spitting, “Heavy heart, as I sit in this Range/ Counting thousands out, am I about dollars or about change?”

Born Sinner is due on Cole’s 28th birthday, January 28.
