By Rob Markman

Big Sean has put in plenty of work over the past few years, so when the Detroit rapper rolls out his sophomore LP Hall of Fame, expect it to be crafted just the way he wants it, beginning with his upcoming first single.

“It ain’t no turn-up song. I wanted to do something a little bit different. I wanted to do some sh– that I really was inspired by, something that strikes an emotional chord in people,” Sean told rap blog HipHop-N-More on Friday night after a show in Atlantic City, New Jersey. “I’m not going by the label’s standards. I’m not going by the club standards. It’s just what the f— I wanna do.”

Now that Big Sean is finally famous, the Detroit MC is ready to enter rap’s figurative hall of fame. Last month, the G.O.O.D. Music MC revealed the title for his upcoming sophomore album (Hall of Fame) and now Sean is planning to go in a different direction than his fans may be used to on the LP’s first single.
