The Cash Money and YMCMB family just got a little bigger. Orlando rapper Caskey, who earlier this year released an attention-grabbing mixtape called No Complaints, has inked an extensive deal with Cash Money for releases, publishing, marketing and merchandise.
For Cash Money boss Birdman, it was yet another case of his radar for budding talent going wild upon getting introduced to Caskey's music and work ethic. "The minute that Caskey walked into our first meeting, I knew he was star," he said. "There was no second thoughts. It was clear from the minute he opened his mouth, the white boy could rap and had that star quality."
As part of the deal, Caskey will have his publishing for mediums like television and film handled by Money Mack Music, which is also owned by Birdman.
His first official release for the storied hip-hop label is currently being recorded at The Hit Factory in Miami and has a tentative release date in mid-2013. "I've wanted to be a performer my whole life, so signing with Cash Money Records and having this platform to release my music has been a dream," Caskey said. "I greatly respect Birdman, Slim and the YMCMB family."
