"Bad Bitch" rapper Webbie (born Webster Grandey, Jr.) was arrested and charged with battery and robbery on Wednesday after police allege that he attacked a woman at a hotel in his native Baton Rouge, Louisiana, kicked her down two flights of stairs and stole $340 from her wallet.
Webbie was taken into custody on the scene around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday. A rep for the Lil Boosie affiliate told TMZ that Webbie met the woman at a party that night, but denied that he attacked or robbed her, claiming that the money taken from her purse belonged to Webbie and that she had stolen it from him.
A spokesperson for Webbie could not be reached for comment by press time, but the Affidavit of Probable Cause filed in the case by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office notes that Web was charged with simple battery and simple robbery after police responded to a call that he was inside the Chase Suites hotel after being barred from the premises. He is alleged to have taken the money from the victim's purse "by use of force or intimidation," but without employing a firearm or dangerous weapon.
The "Independent" rapper was released on $9,000 bond on Wednesday and reportedly plans to fight the accusations.
