Lil Wayne Confirms Dedication 4 Release Date

Update: Dedication 4 delayed until September.

After delaying the release of the fourth installment in his acclaimed DJ Drama-hosted Dedication mixtape series, Lil Wayne took to Twitter and confirmed the effort will now drop on August 30.

Weezy had promised a release for Dedication 4 on August 15, but reneged to give 2 Chainz’s currently chart-topping album Based On A T.R.U. Story a full chance to dominate. “That’s my real, real, real good homeboy right there and I refuse to put any attention on me when the spotlight, everybody’s eyes, everybody’s attention and everybody’s focus should be on my n—a 2 Chainz,” said Wayne following a recent New York performance with Nicki Minaj.

He then admitted that, due to his obsession with skating, he hadn’t been focusing on music like he had in the past and Dedication 4 wasn’t actually done on time. “I ain’t finished that mother—er. I’ve been skating and sh–, falling and sh– and all that type of sh–, but I’ll give it to you like, next week. Stop trippin’ pimp.”

There still isn’t an official tracklist for Dedication 4, but it’s confirmed that Weezy’s onetime protege Nicki Minaj will make a guest appearance. “”We had this crazy little spat — I actually got on footage and I’ll show the fans really soon,” she recently told MTV News, confirming the feature. “But he’s working on the mixtape and I said, ‘Excuse me, I need to be on that mixtape,’ and he said, ‘Aight, whatever you wanna do.’ So I just went into the other room and recorded on this particular beat that I’m sure my fans are gonna be very happy that I touched.”
