After Lady Gaga went, well, publicly gaga for Los Angeles rapper Kendrick Lamar at the Pitchfork Music Festival in July, it was only a matter of time before the two embarked on a collaboration. And indeed, it's going down and was supposed to drop September 6, but fans will now have to wait a little longer to hear the results.
Entitled "PartyNauseous," the song will appear on Lamar's much-anticipated major label debut good kid, m.A.A.d city. The album's current release date is October 2, and it looks like Interscope is trying to make some inter-label magic by pairing the two highly-unique artists together.
For Gaga, it's her first major hip-hop collaboration since 2009's "Chillin" appeared on Wale's official debut. Her fanbase, which is about as diehard as it gets, had the post-Labor Day date set on their calendars and she issued an apology earlier today (August 23).
"Im REALLY sorry to the fans," she tweeted. "Record w Kendrick won't be out on the 6th i'm SO SORRY its not my album, i don't control dates, but stay tuned!"
Gaga recently explained the origin of the song, writing that it's about her relationship with the country of Jakarta. "Once @kendricklamar + I started talking about life + his forward thinking views about love + hip hop, the song became something more."
It's currently unknown if Lamar will return the favor and appear on Gaga's upcoming 2013 album ARTPOP.
