Lupe Fiasco Drops ‘Battle Scars’ Video With Guy Sebastian

By Carter Maness

With a little more than a month before the release of Food And Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Vol. 1, Lupe Fiasco has shuffled the album’s tracklist, adding the Guy Sebastian collaboration “Battle Scars,” which will now be his next American single.

“Battle Scars,” which matches the Chicago rapper with the Australian chart-topper, is already a no. 1 hit down under. Fiasco is hoping the piano-heavy pop magic translates to an American audience, and he’s just announced that the single will get an official release on August 28.

Fiasco had planned to build on the critical acclaim of the album’s second single, “Bitch Bad,” with the track “Form Follows Function” before changing paths due to the international success of “Battle Scars.”

The video for “Bitch Bad” will still premiere tomorrow (August 22) at 4 p.m. during Fiasco’s appearance on “RapFix Live,” along with simultaneous broadcasts on MTV Jams, mtvU, MTV2 and MTV Hits. Food And Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Vol. 1, the rapper’s fourth album, is still set for release on September 25.
