Jay-Z is performing a set of 8 shows this fall to launch the Barclays Center where the Brooklyn Nets will reside, and Nets owner and Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov says he plans to join in on the fun by rapping as well.
Crain reports that the billionaire owner of the Brooklyn Nets recently appeared on a Russian television comedy show performing a musical tribute to his co-owner, Jay- Z. Most of the offering was in Russian with the exception of a small portion, “Mr. Jay-Z, this rap is for you. Mr. Jay-Z, this is the first presentation/of real rap music from Russian Federation. Mr. Jay-Z, you are not alone/Mikhail Prokhorov on the microphone.”
According to an e-mail sent to Crain, Prokhorov’s next performance will be at the Barclays Center this fall. ‘Yes, I will rap at his concert,’ Mr. Prokhorov said via e-mail. ‘I am in rehearsals now 10 hours a day and plan to demand joint billing.’”
We’re not sure if Prokhorov is serious or not but we’ll find out soon enough, as Hov plans to open up the arena with 8 shows starting this September. Jigga will rock out September 28-30 and October 1, 3-6.
