Dr. Dre And Kendrick Lamar Rep Aftermath On ‘XXL’ Cover

By Adrian Prelvukaj

It’s XXL magazine’s 15th year in the industry and who better to grace the cover of their anniversary issue than someone who’s been a dominant figure in the hip-hop world for just as long. Dr. Dre satisfies that role, bringing with him new Aftermath signee Kendrick Lamar for the cover that boldly states “After Snoop, Eminem, & 50 Cent Dr.Dre Brings Us Hip-Hops Next Big Star; Kendrick Lamar.”

The special collectors issue will hit shelves on August 14, and it goes in depth on the Compton golden boy’s upcoming album good kid, m.A.A.d city as well as his family’s violent past, present, and future. On the other end of the article, mogul Dr. Dre continuously boasts about his newest artist’s talents and capabilities, saying, “I don’t have a crystal ball, but I believe that [Kendrick] has the potential to do some really incredible great things–things that are gonna make the veterans raise their eyebrows.”
