Five people were shot at the famed Rucker Park basketball court in Harlem, NYC on Wednesday (July 25). The NY Daily News reports that gunfire began around 10:00pm last night during the annual Entertainers Basketball Classic (EBC).

“They started arguing, about a bad call or something like that,” said Rodney Harris, a witness on the scene to the Daily News. “The guy was standing no more than five feet away from me. He pulled a gun out of his pocket and shot once. He then shot one more time. Everyone started running.”‘

About the shooter, Harris recounted, ‘”Then he just walked away. He didn’t even run.”‘

A former point guard for the Knicks (now of the Golden State Warriors), Nate Robinson, was apparently at the game but escaped without harm. In total, the five shooting victims were taken to local hospitals and are expected to survive, according to police. One other person was also injured in the incident.

The EBC has a history of drawing in big names in the world of professional sports and hip-hop. Just earlier this week, rapper Nas made an appearance to show support and earlier this month, Machine Gun Kelly unleashed a freestyle for fans at the Park during which he also brought out Bun B and Maino.
