Usher Moves To Settle Custody Battle After Stepson’s Jet Ski Accident

After a tragic incident where his stepson, Kile Glover, was hit by a jet ski and suffered irreversible brain damage, Usher has reportedly moved to settle an ongoing custody dispute with his ex-wife Tameka Foster.

According to TMZ, the 33-year-old pop icon met with lawyers this week to draft a proposal that would grant Foster majority custody rights for their two sons, Usher Raymond V and Naviyd, and also increase the amount of child support paid by Usher. The proposal is an about-face from the singer’s previously-requested 50/50 split.

As recently as May, Foster, under oath, denied claims that she had threatened to kill Usher. She did admit that she once threatened “I will f— you up.” Later that month, Usher refused Foster’s request to allow her and their sons to live in a Georgia mansion that he owns.

The couple, who was married from 2007-2009, has been in the midst of a heated legal battle over the last three years, but it appears that Glover’s injury has caused Usher to take some stock of the situation and try to settle. “He loved Kile,” a source told U.S. Weekly. “This is a terrible, awful tragedy.”

According to reports, though, Foster has yet to be presented with the new settlement offer.
