Kanye West is known for making memorable and unexpected appearances at award shows, so there's no telling what he might have in store for tonight's G.O.O.D. Music performance at the BET Awards. Luckily though, MTV News caught up with Big Sean out in LA on Saturday, and he dropped a hint for us.
"All white, all white, player," Sean told us with a mischievous laugh outside of music-industry veteran Kevin Liles' private luncheon in Hollywood Hills on Saturday.
Though Sean didn't give us much to go on, it's worth noting that in the video for "Mercy," the first single off G.O.O.D.'s highly anticipated Cruel Summer album, Kanye, Pusha T, 2 Chainz, Sean and the rest of the crew are dressed in all black. It's possible that 'Ye just wants to switch things up for the collective's first live televised performance or, maybe, West is going to give fans a new song entirely when the show kicks off tonight at 8 p.m.
It wouldn't be the first time Kanye debuted a track at a big-time awards show. In 2010, just two months before releasing his My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy LP, the rap and style icon returned to MTV's Video Music Awards to premiere "Runaway." With a little more than a month before he drops Cruel Summer, it's not too far-fetched to guess that 'Ye might use the televised moment to drum up some serious excitement for the album.
Of course, this is all speculative, and if G.O.O.D. decide to perform "Mercy" as most folks are expecting, it's a safe bet that it will all be visually stunning.
