Jay-Z, Kanye West, Cash Money Have No Beef At 2012 BET Awards

Despite the rumored friction between members of G.O.O.D. Music, Jay-Z and Young Money/Cash Money, the two camps seem to coexist just fine at tonight’s 2012 BET Awards. As Best New Artist winner Big Sean made his way to the podium at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles moment ago, the camera panned down the front row to show that Jay-Z and Kanye were just seats away from YMCMB boss Birdman and the rest of the YMCMB clique.

Sean even shouted out YMCMB honcho Lil’ Wayne during his acceptance speech along with his mentor Kanye.

Earlier this summer, Lil’ Wayne unleashed a diss song against G.O.O.D’s Pusha T, “Ghoulish” after Pusha’s apparent dis against Drake, “Exodus 23:1″

Young Money President Mack Maine explained to MTV News in June that the perceived beef is not what his team wants. “It’s not like that. I don’t see it like that. That’s not what we in the game for,” he told MTV News of a potential G.O.O.D./YMCMB dustup. “If it ever came to that, God forbid, that’s a whole different story, but right now we’re just tryin’ to get paper, we’re just tryin’ to get money, man, and make good music.”

Sean has been a bit of a peacekeeper between the two camps. Maine said about Big Sean’s collaboration with Lil’ Wayne, “My Homies Still,” “It’s crazy — I can’t front. Unbiased opinion: It’s crazy. I hope the world feels the same. He killed it. I think that’s big for him. We’re always collabin’ with people and he earned it, he earned his way. He’s been handling his weight on different tracks, and it’s his time.”

Cash Money head honcho Birdman has had his share of words for Kanye’s big brother Jay-Z. Words were exchanged between the two when Jay referred to Birdman’s finance as “baby money” in one of his raps. Last year the air to the YMCMB throne Lil Wayne stepped up to the plate in his pops’ defense when he sanctioned an all out rap war against Hov dissing Mrs. Carter Beyonce on his Carter IV album. For his part Weezy was noticeably absent from the awards.
