Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music Album Gets August Release Date

We finally have a date. Although things are always subject to change when it comes to album releases, as of now, the G.O.O.D. Music LP Cruel Summer is scheduled to drop on August 7. Pusha T confirmed the date last night during an interview on NYC’s HOT 97 radio station.

“August 7th. G.O.O.D. Music compilation coming August 7th,” Pusha told Flex. Thus far, Kanye’s label has released the track “Mercy” the video for which dropped the first week of June.

In May West spent some time at the Cannes Film Festival in France where he premiered his “Cruel Summer” short film, bearing the same name as his G.O.O.D. Music LP. As we inch closer to the album’s release, all eyes are on West and co. to see what they roll out, as ‘Ye is known for his fanfare. To premiere “Cruel Summer,” he had the film projected onto seven video screens inside a tented pyramid on the Mediterranean Sea, after having a formal red carpet for the event.

The 30-minute film stars Kid Cudi as a car thief who falls in love with a blind Arabian princess.

Kanye is scheduled to play two shows at the Revel entertainment center in Atlantic City, New Jersey on July 6 and 7. Thus far, it’s been billed as a solo performance, but with the album right around the corner, we wouldn’t be surprised if he brought a few guests along.
