Trae Tha Truth, real name Frazier Thompson III, was shot early Wednesday morning in Southwest Houston. The Grand Hustle signee was one of five victims injured at Scores Cabaret, but three of the victims died in the club.

MyFoxHouston.com reports that Trae was rushed to the hospital, where he was treated for his gunshot wound. At 5:50 a.m. on Wednesday, a photographer affiliated with the Houston MC tweeted an update from the Twitter handle @LowLifeDynasty, writing, “Everybody TRAE is ok. Minor gunshot wound.” In the accompanying photo, the recent Grand Hustle signee is shown wearing his hospital gown and smiling while seated upright on a bed chucking up the “W” sign.

Witnesses told Houston’s KTRK TV that more than 20 shots were fired in the parking lot of the strip club. According to police, the shooting victims who were pronounced dead at the scene were identified as two males and one female; names are still being withheld at this time. Police spokesman Victor Senties told Fox News that there were no details on what sparked the shooting, and that no one has been taken into custody.

The Houston MC made headlines earlier this year when he and T.I. appeared on MTV’s “RapFix Live” to announce that he had signed to the King of the South’s Grand Hustle label.

“Me and Tip are similar in a lot of ways. We both understand what it is,” Trae told MTV News’ Sway Calloway in the February interview. “The thing that kinda made me way more comfortable is he reached out more on a partner note to where it wasn’t about money, it wasn’t about none of that. It was about, ‘Look, we can team up or even if you doin’ your own thing, I’m just supporting what you got goin’, I want to see you make it.’ “
