Oprah Winfrey, after filming her soon-to-be-aired interview with 50 Cent, tweeted her excitement yesterday after leaving his grandmother's house. Winfrey quickly turned from interviewer to fan after meeting the entrepreneurial rapper, calling him calm and charming.
"Great conversation about rap culture, fatherhood, love, and life," she said. "He describes himself as two people – Curtis and 50 Cent – I was fascinated to hear his description of them both. Really glad I did it. Really liked him."
The interview, which airs June 10 during an episode of "Oprah's Next Chapter" on OWN, reveals some surprising tidbits about 50. For one, he meditates and received his mantra from Deepak Chopra, whose book he's currently reading. Curtis also reveals details about a life-changing conversation he recently had with philanthropist Ray Chambers and that he is still not allowed to use curse words in the grandmother's house.
The interview and kind words should put an end to a string of criticism from 50 towards Oprah. "Oprah's audience is my audience's parents. So, I could care less about Oprah or her show," he once said. Now they are instagramming pictures with one another.
