The action in the 2012 NBA playoffs heated up Tuesday night as the Bulls faced the Sixers, the Celtics squared-off against the Hawks and the Kobe Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers went toe-to-toe with the Nuggets in their respective first round match-ups. The #1 seeded Chicago Bulls had to go without their injured floor general Derrick Rose who will miss the remainder of the playoffs due to the torn ACL he suffered in game one of their series with the Sixers. Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday dropped 26 points leading his team to a 109-92 victory, while the Bulls struggle to find a way without their marquee player.

The Boston Celtics were without two of their stars, but thanks to Paul Pierce’s 36 point effort the Cs were able to tie their series with the Hawks after they beat Atlanta 87-80. Kobe Bryant also notched 36 points as his Lakers went up two games to zip against the Nuggets with a 104-100 point win.

The MTV News Hip-Hop Playoffs are just as tight. In the Swagged Out conference Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group is crushing D-Block so far earning 82% of the fan vote. T.I.’s Grand Hustle is edging out Diddy’s Bad Boy crew, but not by much. The Hustle Gang has 54% of the vote, but it’s not inconceivable that BB can wage a comeback.

Carmelo Anthony & NY Knicks Look For Redemption, Roc Nation Continues Surge In Hip-Hop Playoffs

In one of the more surprising match-ups in the Baller conference Eminem’s Shady 2.0 squad is holding on to a narrow lead against Kendrick Lamar and his TDE family. The Cali crew, which has only risen to prominence in the past year is wildly popular online thanks to releases from Kendrick, Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock and Ab-Soul. Right now they only hold 49% of the vote against Slim Shady and company, but if they wind up overthrowing King Mathers, it will surely be a major first round upset.
