Late in March, Maroon 5 revealed that Wiz Khalifa would be appearing on their upcoming album Overexposed and we didn't have to wait too long to hear their collaboration. The new Maroon 5 single "Payphone," featuring the Pittaburgh rapper debuted on Monday (April 16).
"Payphone" features production from Benny Blanco and finds Wiz rapping about an ex who's feeling left behind since he's blown up. Check out the track above.
Wiz recently dropped his Taylor Allderdice mixtape, and he's prepping his upcoming studio LP O.N.I.F.C. Thus far Wiz has revealed a Cam'ron feature on the album. "First of all, I've been a huge Cam'ron fan forever. Him and Snoop Dogg are my favorite rappers," he explained. "I've been trying to get up with Cam for a long time, but it never really happened. My man [Sam] Crespo, who works at Atlantic ... he called Cam and gave Cam my number. Cam texted me, and I was like, 'Oh sh--, it's Cam.' "
Back in February he also broke down the album's title. "It's the Only N-Word in First Class," Wiz said, explaining the acronym on "Sway in the Morning" on Shade 45. "It's inspired by Prodigy's H.N.I.C. When he dropped that, I felt like that sounded so strong."
