Brooklyn-based rapper Josh Baze may be a fairly fresh face in the industry, but that isn’t stopping him from making big moves. Baze, a former Versace model, recently made music his focus, dropping his album Hi-Heels & Low-Lifes on March 20. The album features supermodel Marisa Miller on the cover art, and his first single, “We Made It,” has a visual directed by Hype Williams.
The 21-year-old rapper draws his influences from many different places. Baze told MTV News, “My dad was a DJ, so just having him around and watching music get built inside of my house, it was a blessing, because I got to learn so much, man.” Baze has an eclectic sound, and looks up to Biggie, 2Pac, Jay-Z and even ‘N Sync and Backstreet Boys for musical inspiration according to The BoomBox.
Josh Baze recently appeared on “Last Call with Carson Daly” and now he is set to perform on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Monday, April 9. Baze will be performing his big singles “We Made it,” “Harlot,” “She’d Gold” and other tracks from the new album during the show.
