It’s not Friday yet but the G.O.O.D. Music family are making preparations for a strong debut with the lead single off their upcoming album. West and his G.O.O.D. Music rap compadres unveiled the artwork to the single “Mercy” that’s reminiscent of the visuals from their highly touted G.O.O.D. Friday series. While the physical music for “Mercy” didn’t accompany the artwork, group member Pusha-T confirmed the track would surface this coming Friday.
“G.O.O.D. Music single “Mercy” drops on Good Friday” Pusha simply tweeted earlier today.
Up until this month we’ve gotten updates on the album from Big Sean, Pusha T and Mannie Fresh who recently revealed that he’s been helping Kanye to produce the project, which he said was ‘pretty close’ to finished in March. “Songs phenomenal, everything,” he told MTV News. “It’s an album that’s all over the place, it’s not just one thing. It’s not just that you’re gonna hear some Southern hip-hop or whatever. You’re gonna hear everything.”
Way back in November Pusha T told MTV News that they had made considerable progress on the album. “I’ve recorded four songs for the G.O.O.D. Music album, and hopefully there will be a couple more,” Pusha said. “I know me and [Big] Sean should definitely be on two songs together, if not more–Sean, that’s my man. The beats are there and they’re laid out. The finished product still has to go through the Kanye West wizardy wall, but after that happens, then we’ll see.”
Can Friday come any quicker? Be sure to check back and give us your thoughts on “Mercy.”
