2 Chainz is making a run for it right now. The Atlanta rapper has spent plenty of time on the road recently, performing hits from his T.R.U. REALigion mixtape, including “Spend It,” and “Riot,” the video for which he recently wrapped shooting in his hometown. MTV News caught up with 2 Chainz on the set for a first look at the inevitable mayhem that would ensue.
So, when you have a hit single titled “Riot,” what might the video look like? “Basically the whole concept behind “Riot” with the video is basically…what the title says,” 2 Chainz says, stating the obvious. “We starting a riot.”
The clip was filmed inside a dark warehouse space, with plenty of fire for full rioting effect. DJ Drama dropped by the set just in time to see things go up in flames. “I just got here and I see this is a very powerful scene, I see a lot of fire, you see a lot of the Southside out here,” he said, also adding some love for 2 Chainz. “I’m real proud of my homie 2 Chainz, he’s doing a lot of major thins and what’s even crazier is the things that are about to come, are bigger than ever.”
2 Chainz made a stop at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas earlier this month where he commanded a guest appearance from Kanye West during his set. During a recent visit to “RapFix Live” the Atlanta rapper confirmed that he and West had been working together for some time now. 2 Chainz’s latest feature was on Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded single “Beez in the Trap,” and he’s hinted that the Young Money rapper may appear on his upcoming album Based on a T.R.U. Story as well.
