DMX starred alongside Nas in the infamous 1998 crime drama “Belly,” under the direction of the legendary Hype Williams. In an exclusive clip from MTV2’s Sucker Free, the Yonkers-bred rapper—who is currently paving his way for a comeback—explains how he got cast in the film, after working with Hype Williams on the video for “Get At Me Dog.” “Hype Williams did my first video “Get At Me Dog,” and at the end of the video, I’m eating and everything and he asked me if I wanted to be part of a movie.” X’s answer? “Hell yeah.”

X has earned himself a reputation for being quite eccentric and his recollection of working on the film does nothing to prove otherwise. “I really don’t remember how I felt at the time,” he said, going on to explain exactly why he was drawing such a blank. “You gotta remember also, during that whole movie, I’d eat an egg and cheese sandwich with turkey bacon in the morning, then I’d drink a bottle of Hennessy per day. That was the contents of my stomach everyday.”
