Is there anything that Chris Brown can’t do? Already a superstar singer and dancer, Breezy is adding video director to his resume, but can fortune teller be next? RapFix was on the set of Wale’s Chris Brown-directed video “Slight Work” back in December and asked Breezy, Wale and “Slight Work” guest MC Big Sean about their picks for MTV News’ “Hottest MCs in the Game.” Without hesitation Big Sean suggested Wale for the list. After the trio tossed out names of hip-hop big dogs like Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Rick Ross, Brown came up with a suggestion. “How ’bout Big Sean,” he asked.
How about Big Sean? On Tuesday it was revealed that the Detroit MC landed at #9 on the “Hottest MCs in the Game VII” list.
Wale of course was slotted at #10 on Monday. It was the first time that either rapper appeared on MTV News’ annual list. “Shoutout to @MTV and @mtvjams for acknowledging my hustle and thank you to all the fans who have been supporting me since day one,” the D.C. spitter tweeted after he learned of his placement on the list.
Sean was pretty excited about his inclusion too. On Tuesday he took to Twitter to express his joy. “Well dats what da f--k it is den! Like a Gee! ---->@MTV,” he wrote while sending out a link to his site uknowbigsean.
"He was like the underdog that made it to the finals," MTV News hip-hop director Rahman Dukes pointed out about Big Sean’s recent strides. "He really did his thing."
And Chris Brown knew it all along.
