(Snoop on a recent episode of "The Price is Right")
By William E. Ketchum III
Rap albums, game show appearances, and marijuana charges—just another day in the life of Snoop Dogg. The Los Angeles MC has been an unabashed marijuana enthusiast for as long as most hip-hop fans can remember, so it doesn’t come as a huge surprise that he was arrested this weekend on possession charges
TMZ reports that a drug-sniffing dog uncovered a stash of greenery in a waste basket on Snoop’s tour bus at a border patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas. The standard inspection only turned up less than a half-ounce of weed, but they report that the state has a zero tolerance policy for the substance, despite different rules in other parts of the country.
Snoop’s arrest comes less than a year after he rallied against police officers for arresting country music legend Willie Nelson on marijuana charges in the same city.
“They better leave Willie the f--- alone. Realistically, sometimes you need to back up off us. Certain people have a certain type of respect for your elders. Willie Nelson is our elder,” Snoop snapped. “He’s somebody who’s been through many decades of music, hard times and living good, and life going up and down. I want to know who was the officer that said, “Willie Nelson, you’re under arrest. You have the right to remain silent.” You dumb mother-----!”
To kick off the year, Snoop appeared on "The Price Is Right," where he raised over $72,000 for his Snoop Football League for inner-city kids. Last month, he and Wiz Khalifa released the collaborative album Mac And Devin Go To High School, which is a soundtrack for their upcoming film of the same title.
